1. What is ORANGE?
ORANGE is a strategy that we will be using to better connect the CHURCH and the HOME. The name comes from the mixing of the colors red (like a heart, the home) and yellow (like a light, the church) together to make a an even more vibrant color ORANGE!
2. So how do you plan on doing that?
We will work on two goals: equipping parents to be the spiritual leaders of their children and using proven strategies to improve the way we communicate God's story to toddlers, children, and the youth.
3. What's the strategy?
We will be adopting a new curriculum by the ReThink Group (the creators of the Orange philosphy) that will teach teach three basic truths at each age level. (see below) We have learned that it is really important to use a curriculum that builds on itself at each age level, giving kids an opportunity to experience the WONDER, DISCOVERY, and PASSION of a relationship with Christ.
KNOW - Birth through Pre-School
God made me.
God loves me.
Jesus wants to be my friend forever.
BE - Kindergarten through Fifth grade
God is the source of wisdom.
God has a plan for my life.
I can treat others as I want to be treated.
DO - Sixth through Twelvth grade
I was created for an authentic relationship with my creator.
I belong to Jesus and I define who I am by what He says.
I exist to demonstrate God's love to a broken world.
