Musical Choices Just For You!

It’s time to start another great season in the Music Department of the First United Methodist Church. It will be our pleasure to serve God in a great way, by offering our musical talents throughout the year.

This year we will be offering new musical programs for all age groups and all talent levels. A variety of musical styles will be blended into our Church services throughout the season. Try something new and join us by participating in one or more of our musical programs listed below.

If you don’t feel a need to sing or play, but would like to help out…we need the following:

1.       3-4 helpers with the Youth music program.

2.       We need strong people who can help us move equipment on Sundays.

3.       We need a person to help Mrs. Gough keep all the music in order and filed.

For those of you who play piano/keyboard: We will need additional piano/keyboard accompanists to work with soloists, the new ladies ensemble and to fill in when someone is ill.

We look forward to seeing a lot of new faces this year. 

New (expanded)…K-8 Youth Music Program

         Vocal and Chimes. Practices to be announced. But once it begins the group will sing and/or play in our church services every 5-6 weeks and do special music at Christmas and Easter.

New…Christian Band

         Guitars, Drums, Woodwinds, Brass, Strings, Keyboards, Lead Vocals- all are welcome. Practice will be Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. and Thursdays at 6:00 p.m. Will participate in at least 3 services a month and may play 2-3 times a year outside of church services. Warm-up on Sundays15 min. before service starts.

New…Ladies Vocal Ensemble.

Practice will be Thursdays at 7:05 p.m. Will participate in services approx. every 6-7 weeks. May sing outside of church services 2-3 times a year. All ladies are welcome to be a part of this group.

Chancel Choir – Men & Women

           Age 16 - ??? Practice will be Wednesdays at 7:05 p.m. Will sing every Sunday and will do special music at Christmas and Music Sunday in June. All experience levels are welcome. Practice will also be every Sunday morning for 30 minutes.

Special outside musicians are always welcome. If you would like to sing or play for one of our services please let us know and we will be glad to have you participate! Accompanists are available upon request or CD equipment is available to use.
